Faith Formation Mission Statement
St. James Faith Formation is a comprehensive program for grades 1st through 12th which include sacramental preparation. Our curriculum is designed to incorporate hands on learning and service so our students not only hear the gospel but live it. Our goal is to prepare our students with the knowledge and love of Christ. It is our hope they will continue to grow in their faith and share what they have learned from St. James wherever their future takes them in the world.
What is Faith Formation?
St. James Faith Formation is a comprehensive program for grades 1st through 12th which include sacramental preparation for First Holy Communion (Eucharist), Reconciliation (Confession) and Confirmation.
St. James is unique in that we partner with the Cazenovia School District and have release time for our students. Our curriculum is current and designed to include parent participation to help strengthen faith within the family.
Students learn and live the Word each week through lessons, music enrichment, service projects and outreach to the poor and needy.
First Wednesday Mass is held each month and special grade liturgies are celebrated throughout the year during weekend masses. Liturgy Buddies connect high school and elementary students for these masses and special projects.
Students from St. James happily continue with faith formation after Confirmation. Juniors and seniors meet each week and discuss morality and current topics in Catholicism.
St. James of Cazenovia realizes the children are the future of our Faith.
Our goal is to prepare our students with the knowledge and love of Christ. It is our hope they will continue to grow in their faith and share what they have learned from St. James wherever their future takes them in the world.
